*Other than the other, but since it works by mixing ones own doubts with the stains of others it infected nearby it's going to be visually different. Again, I don't really expect crossover between characters* but it's definitely playing up with subconscious thoughts and emotions. Anthemics responded saying it was in Yearning and Aquatic, and is a leitmotif he uses for the "Echoverse". I really loved Pines and thought one of the parts sounded like a leotmotif I'd heard before but couldn't place in any of the other Arches tracks. Even the title track is taken from melody in Yearning, which I didn't realize originally appeared in Khemia. The music, which is a focal point of Arches, shares some leitmotifs with Khemia tracks. I wonder if Flynn will play a part in that now that his presence has left a stain as well.Īlso, just to bring up another link between Echo and Adastra/Khemia: His immediate reaction after coming out of sensing the drowned girl is fury at everyone just accepting things and that is potentially a new reaction. He talks about realizing that his first sensing experience was being controlled and manipulated, so I'm wondering if he's learning to do the same without realizing it. So is his sensing random or is he summoning stains based on his mood or what he needs at any given point? Right now he almost seems like a living manifestation of the voice of Echo from TJ's route. I thought he was slowly becoming used to sensing because of how he was feeling before sensing the girl who was murdered, but his description of calm and letting it happen is exactly what she felt when her ex attacked her. Also I just can't see the team publishing Echo onto any console storefronts Though from her knowledge, it seems that Murdoch's sexual preference has already been a badly kept secret at this point and ironically, he has to rely on his family's reputation to avoid prosecution. The hand drawn art depicting Murdoch in the change room is also excellent in conveying his overflowing emotions.īesides, it's nice to see Blithe's story and personality opened up as well as some tidbits about the secret tunnel. Same question applies for the polyamorous relationship in Cliff's route, albeit the first half would be love rather than sacrifice. However I'm confused over Murdoch's acceptance of the arrangement between him and Jim: how much is because of his altruistic nature, and how much is because of his desire to suppress his depression. Inferiority complex (possibly due to parental issues) to the point of contracting chronic depression and is just so fucked up.
Which brings up a lot of what we've been exploring in The Smoke Room.Īnd yeah, it kinda confirms my feeling ever since I started reading Murdoch's route: sorrow. Either way, it's never a serious worry on anyone's mind considering how rarely this entity makes contact with our side of the universe.

Neferu: You probably have, but just didn't understand the topic at the time. You: Why haven't I heard of this while I've been here? Personally, I feel that the legends surrounding the Other are simply a catch-all for anything that is feared, or poorly understood.or just the product of a bored society. They also say that sapient consciousness is used by the Other to project these manifestations, and that the sapient's reaction to these projections feeds the entity. Neferu: I'm sure your people have stories of phenomena that are unexplainable? Perhaps an abandoned building that is inhabited by malicious spirits? Possibly a creature that defies all logical explanation, yet sporadically appears in a particular forest? It is technically all around us, but very weak, though it is thought that highly concentrated portions of it attach to tangible things, or occasionally pass through us.

NEKOJISHI TRUE ENDING HOW TO
Neferu: How to put it.well, it's thought that in the half dozen or so times that the Other has spread through our part of the universe, it has left behind small, patchy portions of itself. Neferu: First I should say that what we know about it is very, very limited, and the majority of that information is likely wrong really just ghost stories. You: And it feeds on life? Our life, I mean? Neferu: Yes, though even viruses originated from the original source. On the edge of life, but it needs sapient life to exist. Neferu: Is it alive like you and I? No, not really. It originated from somewhere other than the source of life, the source from which we all came.
